Hi everyone

I thought I'd tell you that both Rowan Hanf and Alejandra Lara Alonso did a great job presenting some of their poetry at the gathering of the Stroll of  Poets Society Open Mike at the Upper Crust Cafe on Monday. Rowan shared 2 pieces both with a lot of poise and confidence and even ended up getting a compliment from well-known Edmonton poet Alice Major.

Alejandra amazed people with her English language skills since she was of course not writing or performing in her first language. I finished up the set with my Remembrance Day poem written before these students were born!

Scona's poets now have a standing invitation to join the Stroll folk any Monday evening as this open mic series happens each week, so we are looking to return on Monday Nov 20 to give some of our other poets this opportunity.

As well, we have been invited to get involved with an event in June focusing on young writers under 25.
